DriveOhio’s Aaron Moore has been appointed to lead a new committee focused on all technical aspects of planning for OmniAir Plugfest events. The OmniAir Plugfest Technical Planning Committee will be responsible for developing test plans, testing schedules, and technical requirements for particpants.

OmniAir Plugfests are the premiere testing events for connected vehicles, offering participants a week of comprehensive conformance, interoperability, security, and performance testing in lab and field environments.  Held twice a year, OmniAir Plugfests bring together leading test laboratories, test equipment providers, and device manufacturers from around the world.

The committee will be responsible for the following:

  • Identify a basic set of test cases that must be passed before performing more advanced testing
  • Identify advanced test cases, such as applications/use cases, and location accuracy
  • Mandatory requirements for devices under test (DUT) and test equipment
  • Reporting methodology for test equipment and DUTs to enter daily test results
  • Testing matrix showing which days are dedicated to the field and laboratory testing and if they will run concurrently
  • Test schedule based on capabilities of equipment providers/test laboratories and number of DUTs and types registered

“Aaron is the perfect candidate to lead this new committee due to his extensive knowledge and experience, having participated in testing and planning for nearly every OmniAir Plugfest since 2018,” said Jason Conley, Executive Director of OmniAir.”

OmniAir is seeking qualified candidates interested in serving on the Plugfest Technical Planning Committee.  Representatives must have prior OmniAir Plugfest testing experience–either as a “test station” provider, security certificate provider, or as an engineer representing a DUT. Candidates should commit to in-person participation at least one OmniAir Plugfest per year.

The Technical Planning Committee will work closely with the Meetings Committee, which is responsible for all non-technical aspects (venue, workshop, sponsorships) of Plugfest planning.

Those interested in serving on the committee should send a note to Ryan Hall, Vice President, Business Development.
