OmniAir Consortium®, the leading industry association promoting interoperability and certification for ITS, tolling and connected vehicles, announces that the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office issued a trademark registration for OmniAir Consortium’s certification mark—OMNIAIR CERTIFIED (stylized & design).

The OmniAir Certified® mark is used by tolling and V2X device manufacturers, test laboratories and test equipment providers whose products have met OmniAir Consortium’s rigorous requirements for certification.

Founded in 2004, OmniAir® offers independent, third-party testing and certification, to ensure that V2X and tolling devices meet OmniAir’s testing requirements for conformance, interoperability, security, and performance.

“OmniAir Certification provides assurance to agencies and OEMs that these trusted communications devices conform with industry standards and meet OmniAir’s rigorous testing requirements,” said Jason Conley, Executive Director of OmniAir Consortium.

In 2017, OmniAir launched the world’s first certification program for DSRC-V2X devices (OBUs and RSUs).  OmniAir also offers testing and certification for RFID tolling tags and readers.

All testing is performed through a network of eight OmniAir Authorized Test Laboratories across North America, Europe, and Asia, using OmniAir Qualified Test Equipment, and validated test cases.

OmniAir Consortium members and stakeholders are developing new certification programs for C-V2X devices, and multi-protocol RFID tolling tags and readers. These two new OmniAir Certification programs are expected to launch later this year.
