OmniAir Consortium® is pleased to welcome the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) as its newest Executive-level member. As a public sector member, MDOT further strengthens OmniAir’s mission to advance trusted testing and certification programs that support interoperable, secure, and scalable connected and intelligent transportation technologies.
“Michigan has long been a national leader in connected and automated vehicle innovation,” said Jason Conley, executive director of OmniAir Consortium. “MDOT’s commitment to real-world deployment, research partnerships, and data-driven transportation solutions will be invaluable as OmniAir continues to evolve certification and testing programs that meet the needs of public agencies and infrastructure owner-operators nationwide.”
MDOT plays a central role in advancing Michigan’s mobility ecosystem, supporting one of the most active connected and automated vehicle environments in the United States. Through strategic investments in intelligent transportation systems, smart corridor projects such as the I‑94 connected and automated vehicle corridor, and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) infrastructure deployments, MDOT is improving roadway safety, enhancing mobility, and enabling next-generation transportation services across the state.
Through its participation in OmniAir, MDOT will collaborate with peer agencies, industry partners, and research organizations to help shape certification frameworks, interoperability testing, and best practices that support nationwide deployment of connected and intelligent transportation systems.
