OmniAir Consortium® announces initial testing partners for the upcoming OmniAir Maryland Plugfest. Hosted in partnership with Johns Hopkins University, and in coordination with the Maryland Transportation Authority and Maryland’s CAV Working Group, this week-long vehicle-to-everything (V2X) testing event brings together industry leaders to support real-world validation and deployment readiness.

OmniAir Plugfests are the premiere testing event for connected vehicle and infrastructure technologies. Participating vendors have access to a comprehensive, end-to-end testing environment designed for OBU and RSU developers and an opportunity to work with leading test laboratories, test tool providers and experts from around the world. Engineering and product teams will have the opportunity to validate devices across protocol conformance, interoperability, security, and live field performance, all within a single, coordinated test event.

OmniAir is pleased to announce the following participating test station providers and capabilities:

  • Protocol and Conformance Testing: DEKRA and TTA, using Keysight and VIAVI Solutions (formerly Spirent), will support stack-level validation, standards-based conformance testing, and 1218 for RSUs.
  • Interoperability Testing: a team from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will provide tools and frameworks to enable multi-vendor interoperability testing at scale.
  • Infrastructure Integration: Leidos will deploy its CAVe-In-A-Box solution, message validation, integrating RSU functionality with traffic signal controller systems for infrastructure-based testing.
  • Security and SCMS Validation: Saesol Tech will provide certificate enrollment, provisioning, CRL handling, and automated IEEE 1609.2.1 compliance testing using the S2X Tester.
  • Security Interoperability: OmniTrust will support secure message exchange validation, authentication behavior, and trust chain verification across multi-vendor environments.
  • Field and Performance Testing: Noblis and Wayties will enable real-world drive testing, including BSM performance analysis and system-level validation in operational conditions

In addition, FHWA staff will be on-site throughout the event, engaging with participants and observing testing activities. This provides a valuable opportunity for organizations that support or target the V2X Accelerator Program to demonstrate readiness and align with federal deployment priorities.

OmniAir Plugfests are designed to help participants identify issues early, validate performance across the full V2X stack, and accelerate progress toward certification and deployment. In addition, testing teams will have full access to:

  • OmniAir CAV Workshop & live demonstrations
  • The Innagural OmniAir Hackathon
  • Deep-dive technical learning throughout the week
  • Networking Reception

Space for testing is limited, and schedules are filling quickly. Register today to secure your spot and ensure your device is included in this unique, hands-on testing environment.
