OmniAir Consortium®, the leading industry association promoting interoperability and certification for ITS, tolling, and connected vehicles, is proud to announce a milestone: TransCore’s JED III (J3) TDM Hardshell Transponder has become the first-ever OmniAir Certified® TDM transponder. In addition, TransCore’s Encompass 6 (E6) Multi-Protocol Interior Reader has also earned OmniAir Certification for Open Road Tolling. Both devices were tested by DEKRA at its laboratory in Sterling, Virginia, with field evaluations conducted at an OmniAir Authorized Field Test Site in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Encompass 6 (E6) passed all tests for reading multiple tolling protocols, while the JED III (J3) transponder was certified for TDM tolling, giving agencies a dependable option for single-protocol systems. “Congratulations to TransCore on earning OmniAir Certification,” said Jason Conley, Executive Director of OmniAir Consortium. “OmniAir Certification for tolling equipment provides agencies with confidence that these devices conform to industry standards and meet interoperability and performance requirements.” TransCore's Encompass 6 supports all three major U.S. tolling protocols and offers easy installation and integration for multi-protocol environments, providing a clear path toward nationwide interoperability. Their JED III transponder delivers a robust, field-proven solution for dedicated TDM tolling systems, now officially certified through OmniAir’s rigorous testing and certification program. OmniAir® offers independent, third-party testing and certification for RFID tolling devices and connected vehicle technologies.
