OmniAir Consortium®, the leading industry association promoting interoperability and certification for intelligent transportation systems (ITS), tolling, and connected vehicles, is proud to announce that TransCore’s Encompass® 6 (E6) Multi-Protocol Interior Reader has earned OmniAir Certification for Open Road Tolling.
The Encompass 6 (E6) was tested by DEKRA at its laboratory in Sterling, Virginia, with field evaluations conducted at an OmniAir Authorized Field Test Site in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The reader successfully passed all requirements for reading multiple tolling protocols.
“Congratulations to TransCore on earning OmniAir Certification for their Encompass 6 multi-protocol reader,” said Jason Conley, Executive Director of OmniAir Consortium. “OmniAir Certified® electronic toll collection devices provide assurance to tolling agencies that equipment conforms to industry standards and meets rigorous interoperability and performance requirements.”
TransCore’s Encompass 6 supports all three major U.S. tolling protocols, enabling a single-device solution for agencies operating across regional and legacy systems. Designed for interior mounting, the reader delivers reliable multi-protocol performance while simplifying deployment and integration. OmniAir Certification confirms that the device successfully completed independent laboratory and field testing.
TransCore brings decades of experience in RFID systems, having shipped more than 125 million RFID tags and deployed over 101,000 readers across the tolling, airport, parking, rail, and access control markets. This depth of experience reinforces the credibility and maturity of the technology behind the Encompass 6 platform. Learn more about OmniAir Certified products on our Product Certification page.
