OmniAir Consortium, the leading industry association promoting interoperability and certification for ITS, tolling, and connected vehicles, announces that Applied Information, Inc. has joined OmniAir Consortium as an Associate Level Member.

Based in Suwanee, Georgia, Applied Information is a leading developer of connected, intelligent transportation system (ITS) solutions designed to improve safety, reliability, and mobility. Applied Information’s connected vehicle offerings include full Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X) On Board Units (OBU) and Roadside Units (RSU), providing both C-V2X Direct and Network (4G LTE).

The company also spearheaded the creation of the Infrastructure-Automotive Technology Laboratory (iATL) in Alpharetta, GA bringing automakers and transportation infrastructure manufacturers together to create and test technology and applications for connected vehicles in a real streetscape setting featuring real-world interferences and obstructions.

Late last year, Applied Information announced that it would buy back installed Dedicated Short-Range Communications (DSRC) RSUs from Infrastructure Owner Operators (IOO’s) and offered an automatic upgrade to 5G NR when the technology becomes available.

“We are excited to have an innovative and dynamic organization like Applied Information as the newest OmniAir Member,” said Jason Conley, Executive Director of OmniAir Consortium. “Their expertise and commitment to pushing the industry forward will prove invaluable in advancing OmniAir’s ITS testing and certification programs for connected vehicles and infrastructure.”

OmniAir offers independent, third-party testing and certification for tolling and connected vehicles, including both DSRC and C-V2X (LTE-V2X PC5) radios. For information about our certification programs and readiness, testing events, visit our website at www.omniair.org.
