The OmniAir Plugfest at Mcity is hosted in partnership with the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI) the week of May 13-17, 2024. Mcity is the world’s first purpose-built proving ground for testing the performance and safety of connected and automated vehicles and technologies under controlled and realistic conditions.

OmniAir Plugfests are the premiere testing event for connected vehicle and connected infrastructure technologies.  Testing teams from around the world participate in a week of testing of vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technologies for interoperability, conformance, and security in laboratory and field environments.

OmniAir’s Connected Mobility Workshop, hosted in conjunction with Plugfest, offers a one-day technical deep-dive into topics related to deployment, testing, and future trends, in addition to live technology demonstrations, and a networking reception.

The Connected Mobility Conference will be held at the  North Campus Research Complex – 2800 Plymouth Road, Building 18 – Ann Arbor, Michigan.

OmniAir Plugfests are the premiere testing events for connected vehicle and connected infrastructure technologies. These week-long testing events bring together leading vehicle-to-everything (V2X) device manufacturers, test labs, test equipment providers, and V2X deployers from around the world for a week of testing for interoperability, conformance, and security in lab and field environments.

OmniAir Plugfests help to evaluate the readiness of V2X technologies for certification and deployment. The focus of this event will be on the readiness of LTE-V2X (PC5) onboard units (OBU), roadside units (RSU) and modules.

OmniAir Consortium offers the world’s first, and only, full-stack certification program for cellular vehicle to everything (C-V2X) equipment. Participating vendors will have the opportunity to work with leading experts on V2X testing over the course of a week.

This Plugfest will offer the following focused on LTE-base V2X (C-V2X PC5) testing for conformance, interoperability, and security in both laboratory and field environments:

  • Radio Bench testing including more comprehensive overnight offering for LTE-V2X (C-V2X PC5)
  • Upper Layer Conformance and Protocol Bench Testing for OBU & RSU device testing against OmniAir specifications for LTE-V2X (C-V2X PC5)
  • BSM Performance & Location Accuracy Bench Testing for LTE-V2X (C-V2X PC5)
  • NTCIP 1218 SMNPv3 Evaluation Trial
  • BSM Application Drive Comparison Live Field Testing for LTE-V2X (C-V2X PC5)
  • SCMS Security Certificate Testing and Multi-source Certificate Interoperability Testing, including 1609.2.1 compliance.
  • V2V and V2I safety application testing.
  • Interoperability testing.
