This Plugfest included two OmniAir Authorized Test Laboratories, and multiple V2X test equipment manufacturers, and a record five Security Credential Management System (SCMS)/PKI security providers.
Test station providers included Autocrypt, Chunghwa Telecom, DEKRA, Integral Blue, Integrity Security Services, Keysight, Leidos, Marben, Microsec, NIST, Noblis, Saesol Tech, TTA, Vector, and Wayties.
A key feature of field testing was traveler information message (TIM) interoperability testing, building on the success of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s interoperability test event in Wyoming. By evaluating incident alerts, curve speed warnings, and spot weather messages using C-V2X technology, OmniAir provided a collaborative environment that supports USDOT efforts to advance interoperable, deployment-ready connected vehicle solutions.
“It was great to see the energy and enthusiasm at this OmniAir Plugfest,” said Jason Conley, executive director of OmniAir Consortium. “Engineers and developers from around the world collaborated in an open environment, which makes OmniAir events unique. Only by working together can we ensure trusted communications technologies that make our roads safe and reliable.”
The week also featured a Connected Mobility Workshop, sponsored by the SCMS Manager, with a keynote by Michele Mueller, manager of Connected and Automated Vehicles and Electrification at the Michigan Department of Transportation, and three panels:
- Ensuring V2X Is Day One Deployment Ready
- Network V2X – A View from Korea
- Future Trends – Automation, Connectivity and Electrification
