During Omniair’s fourth Plugfest event and first international edition, the Québec Plugfest,  Orange Traffic, and Intersect earned OmniAir Certification for their Road-Side-Unit (RSU) the Intersect ECO card. OmniAir Authorized Test Laboratory Dekra based in Málaga, Spain completed the exhaustive testing in record time, within three months, making the Intersect RSU the third device in the world to pass all 156 test cases within OmniAir’s certification program.

Intersect is the very first Canadian manufacturer whose device earned certification for a Road-Side Unit to connect vehicles with infrastructure. Road-Side-Units allow connectivity of vehicles with infrastructure to help cities achieve better efficiencies, provide more control and safety at intersections, as well as help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

“OmniAir certification is important to ensure interoperability of equipment from various manufacturers,” said Patrick Lauzière, P.Eng., Enabler-in-Chief for Intersect. “To achieve safety and efficiency benefits, it is vital that all deployed devices in vehicles, no matter the brand and within infrastructure projects work together. Intersect’s team is committed to preparing today’s infrastructure for tomorrow’s technology.”
