In September, DEKRA’s laboratory based in Málaga, Spain was the first OmniAir Authorized Test Laboratory in Europe (OATL). Within a month of that award, DEKRA has taken steps to add additional testing capabilities to include road-side (RSU) devices.

“OmniAir was thrilled to announce, during the RSU focused Texas Plugfest, that DEKRA has enhanced their testing capabilities to include road-side units, said Jason Conley, Executive Director for OmniAir Consortium. “The Texas Plugfest brought together over 150 guests representing 50 companies and agencies that are excited to begin deploying OmniAir Certified Devices, and there was no better time to make this announcement.”

The lab covers the testing and certification for Dedicated Short-Range Communications (DSRC) based Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) technology according to OmniAir requirements.  Today, OmniAir announces that DEKRA has added testing road-side unit (RSU) devices to its portfolio.

As a member of OmniAir, DEKRA helps shape the V2X ecosystem through its participation in OmniAir’s Certification, Technical and Cybersecurity working groups. Our unique connected car test area in Málaga, Spain, replicates real-life operation and behavior.

DEKRA offers a complete scope of laboratory testing, test area testing, field testing, certification services and market-based cybersecurity assessments to meet your testing and certification needs for the connected car, now and in the future. Key aspects we can help you with include wireless connections, interoperability, electromagnetic compatibility, cybersecurity and functional safety.
