Seoul, Korea, November 13, 2018 – OmniAir Consortium, the leading industry organization promoting global interoperability for tolling, intelligent transportation systems (“ITS”), and connected vehicles, announces a formal partnership with ITS Korea.

Yongsung Cho, Head of ITS Korea’s Center for Technology & Standardization and OmniAir Consortium Executive Director Jason Conley signed an accord to jointly develop a connected vehicle certification program in Korea, based on OmniAir’s existing and evolving connected vehicle interoperability conformance and certification programs, in an official signing ceremony in Seoul.

“OmniAir Consortium is honored to enter into this historic agreement with ITS Korea to further cooperation on Connected Vehicle testing and certification,” said Jason Conley, Executive Director of OmniAir Consortium. “ITS Korea has been a leader in promoting the development and deployment of V2X, and this partnership is consistent with OmniAir Consortium’s mission to advance V2X interoperability and certification around the world.”

Last year, OmniAir Consortium launched the world’s first independent, third-party testing and certification program for V2X-DSRC devices. To serve the growing global demand for Connected Vehicles and Connected Infrastructure, OmniAir is expanding testing and certification programs around the world through partnerships like this one, and through expansion of our network of OmniAir Authorized Test Laboratories.  Currently, OmniAir has four labs located across North America and one in Europe. OmniAir will announce its first OmniAir Authorized Test Laboratory in Asia in the coming weeks.
