OmniAir Consortium®, the leading industry association promoting interoperability and certification for ITS, tolling, and connected vehicles, has developed a comprehensive testing and certification program for multi-protocol tolling tags and readers.  This new program will launch in Q1 of this year.

This new OmniAir® Certification program will offer independent, third-party testing and certification for multi-protocol RFID tolling tags and readers that support 6C, 6B-80K, and TDM.

The program builds on OmniAir’s 10 years of experience offering certification for single-protocol 6C RFID tags and readers, as well connected vehicle radios (DSRC and LTE-V2X).

Twelve test documents, developed  by OmniAir’s Tolling & Emerging Payment Technologies Working Group, form the basis of the new program. These include:

• 810-OA-TSS&TP-ENV-Devices – Tolling Environmental Tests for Tags and Readers
• 820-OA-TSS&TP-TPP-Tags – Tag Parameter Performance for TDM, ISO 6B-80K and ISO-6C
• 830-OA-TSS&TP-InOp-Devices – Device Interoperability Performance in Single & Multi-protocol tolling Operational States involving TDM, ISO 6B-80K, and ISO-6C
• 840-OA-TSS&TP-Gantry-SPD –  Single Protocol Overhead Gantry Field Drive Test
• 841-OA-TSS&TP-Gantry-MPD-v1.0 – Multi-protocol Overhead Gantry Field Drive Test
• 841a-OA-TSS&TP-Gantry-MPDE-ZPass-v1.0 – Multi-protocol Overhead Gantry Field Drive Test
• 842-OA-TSS&TP-Gantry-SPDBL – Single Protocol Overhead Gantry Field Drive Test Baseline
