OmniAir is accelerating into 2026 with bold projects that will shape the future of connected and automated transportation. From V2X tolling to advanced air mobility, our members are leading the development of interoperable, standards-based technologies that keep travelers safe and moving efficiently.
To keep driving innovation and delivering exceptional value to our members, we are introducing a modest dues adjustment for 2026, the first in two years. This change will ensure that OmniAir continues to deliver new certification programs, Plugfests and technical initiatives that benefit our entire community.
We’re gearing up for a landmark year. Here’s a glimpse of what’s ahead:
V2X Tolling Certification – Building on successful Plugfest demonstrations and early tolling pilots by member agencies, OmniAir is developing the world’s first certification program for SAE J3217-compliant tolling equipment, including OBUs and RSUs.
Network V2X Certification – As 5G and network-based V2X solutions expand, OmniAir will launch a program to ensure interoperability and standards compliance for C-V2X safety and traveler information messages, whether direct or over the network.
Sensor Certification – Through our Connected Infrastructure Working Group, we are initiating testing and certification for intersection sensors including cameras, lidar and radar that enhance safety and mobility when integrated with V2X systems.
Advanced Air Mobility (A2X) – The future of UAVs and eVTOLs depends on reliable communication technologies that enable electronic conspicuity and collision avoidance. OmniAir will begin a new initiative to adapt V2X technology for advanced aviation environments.
Plugfests and Readiness Events – Join our 2026 Plugfests to test emerging solutions, gain early insights on new programs and collaborate directly with industry innovators.
Workshops on Timely Topics – Participate in member-exclusive sessions covering V2X tolling, network-based V2X, cybersecurity and other critical emerging technologies.
As we launch these ambitious efforts, OmniAir remains focused on prudent spending and resource management while maintaining robust member support. The dues adjustment reflects our shared investment in a rapidly evolving industry that demands constant innovation and collaboration.
