As this year comes to a close, I wanted to thank our members and partners from around the world for their many contributions to OmniAir Consortium’s mission of ensuring the availability of trusted, interoperable technologies to improve safety and mobility across our transportation system

2025 has been a successful year for OmniAir and our members. We welcomed over a dozen new members, including state departments of transportation, tolling agencies, and technology providers from around the world. We also certified more than 20 devices, including the first OmniAir Certified multiprotocol tolling equipment to support national toll interoperability.

We hosted two successful Plugfests in Florida and Michigan, where we saw the first U.S. multivendor V2X tolling demonstrations and successful demonstrations of SCMS interoperability among five SCMS providers from across North America, Europe, and Asia.

OmniAir also completed our work on an 18-month contract with the Federal Highway Administration that helps to align OmniAir’s connected vehicle testing and certification program for the U.S. Department of Transportation and deployer requirements, while delivering technical workshops, webinars, and deep-dive sessions throughout the year. OmniAir’s volunteer Working Groups churned out an impressive number of consequential test documents for use in OmniAir testing and certification programs:

  • Environmental testing
  • Tolling tag parameter performance
  • 2.1 security testing
  • Misbehavior detection and reporting
  • V2X Day One Readiness Testing
  • Universal Case Announcement Message (UCAM)
  • Aftermarket V2X device profiles
  • Connected Intersections

Thank you to OmniAir’s members, partners, and key stakeholders who contributed their time and technical expertise to make these accomplishments possible. We are privileged to work with some of the best and brightest engineers, software developers, security experts, and transportation policy professionals from across the globe.

Thank you for your help in making 2025 a huge success.  Working together, we are helping to advance the deployment of lifesaving, mobility enhancing transportation technologies.

A Personal Note of Gratitude

It has been an honor to serve as OmniAir’s executive director since 2016. I am deeply grateful to our members, partners, and volunteers worldwide for their steadfast commitment to our shared mission.

I am also humbled by the board’s decision to extend my contract for another five years. I look forward to continuing to lead OmniAir as we advance transportation safety and mobility together.

Wishing you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year. I look forward to sharing OmniAir’s plans for 2026 with you soon.

Sincerely,

Jason M. Conley
Executive Director
