OmniAir Consortium®, the leading industry association promoting interoperability and certification for ITS, tolling, and connected vehicles, is hosting its first OmniAir Plugfest in Asia in Taipei, Taiwan, the week of November 6-10, 2023.
OmniAir Taipei Plugfest, hosted in partnership with the Taiwan Telematics Industry Association *(TTIA) and Danhai New Town “D-City,” is the premiere connected vehicle testing event in Asia. This week-long event will bring together leading device manufacturers, automotive OEMs, test laboratories, test equipment providers, and deploying agencies from around the world.
In conjunction with the Plugfest, OmniAir, and TTIA will jointly host a one-day “Connected Mobility Seminar” featuring leading Taiwanese officials and experts from government, industry, and academia. Keynote presentations, plenary sessions, and breakout technical sessions will offer attendees marketing, networking, learning, and technical knowledge exchange opportunities.
The OmniAir Taipei Plugfest will feature laboratory bench conformance testing, field performance testing, interoperability, and security testing for C-V2X devices. V2X safety applications and security solutions will also be tested in laboratory and field environments. Laboratory testing will take place at the Asia Eastern University of Science and Technology, and field testing will be at the nearby Danhai New Town “D-City” Field Test Facility.
“Taipei is the perfect host city for our first OmniAir Plugfest in Asia” said Jason Conley, Executive Director of OmniAir Consortium. “Together with our partners in Taiwan, we look forward to welcoming connected vehicle technology vendors and testing professionals from around the world.”
Participation is strongly encouraged for vendors considering applying for device-level OmniAir Certification, a critical step leading to product commercialization and widespread deployment. It is also valuable for test equipment and laboratory providers seeking OmniAir Authorized Test Equipment or OmniAir Qualified Test Laboratory status.
The OmniAir Taipei Plugfest will feature comprehensive testing for C-V2X devices, including OBUs, RSUs, and modules. Depending on the test equipment providers and test laboratories participating, RSU devices can run through OmniAir’s updated LTE-V2X (CV2X PC5) Release 1 Conformance and Interoperability Certification program for the first time.
OmniAir Plugfests draw device manufacturers, Tier One Suppliers, chipset providers, OEMs, deploying agencies, and leading engineering firms from Asia, Europe, and North America.
