OmniAir Consortium®, the leading industry association promoting interoperability and certification for ITS, tolling, and Connected Vehicles, is excited to announce our newest member, the Vehicle Safety Certification Center (VSCC).

VSCC is the organization responsible for the approval of automotive products in Taiwan, under the supervision of the Taiwan Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC).

VSCC is tasked to research vehicle safety regulation and administration systems, assist MOTC by providing services related to vehicle safety certification, and enhance vehicle safety.

“Adding members like VSCC, that have a deep understanding and focus on vehicle safety and the need for certification is a perfect complement to help in our effort to deploy OmniAir Certified® devices around the world,” said, Jason Conley, Executive Director of OmniAir®.

OmniAir has had a sharp increase in membership from companies based in Taiwan this year. OmniAir and the Taiwan Telematics Industry Association (TTIA) entered a Memorandum of Understanding to help advance OmniAir Certification for V2X devices in Taiwan and the Indo-Pacific region.

OmniAir Consortium®, the leading industry association promoting interoperability and certification for ITS, tolling, and connected vehicles, announces the NORDSYS GmbH, waveBEE® touch has earned OmniAir Qualified Test Equipment (OQTE) status.

The waveBEE touch is an all-in-one system for message level, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) analysis and is designed as a robust tool for everyday use. Depending on the application area, the system offers a wide range of display options: from the visualization of all received messages on an interactive map to the analysis of the RAW format of the individual message.

This enables V2X developers, test engineers, and plant technicians to receive extensive support in the development, installation, and maintenance processes of all V2X systems, regardless of the system’s manufacturer, to be tested.

The waveBEE touch system has proven itself both in the laboratory and the field with automotive OEMs, Tier1 suppliers, engineering service providers, C-ITS operators, V2X test field operators, test site operators, manufacturers of traffic systems and traffic test laboratories.

The waveBEE touch has three operating modes:

Live: Shows live, and on-site all data received over the air interface in a clear map display with direct analysis of the V2X messages in selectable levels of detail.

Record: Records all received data in addition to live mode display and analysis. This means that all data traffic on the air interface can also be evaluated and analyzed at a later point in time. Exporting data is possible in a PCAP format to make the recording available to downstream systems.

Playback: Enables the playback of recorded V2X data to view self-made recordings directly on-site and evaluate them in detail. Furthermore, this mode also enables the import and thus the playback and analysis of PCAP recordings from third-party systems.

This tool played an integral role in last month’s OmniAir Ann Arbor Plugfest in both field and laboratory settings.

OmniAir Certification for V2X devices assures automotive OEMs, Tier One suppliers, and deploying agencies that OmniAir Certified devices conform to industry standards and meet minimum performance and interoperability requirements.

OmniAir’s OQET program assesses and qualifies test equipment, systems, and test tools used in the industry. Only those test systems and equipment that successfully pass OmniAir’s rigorous audit process become a qualified product and are eligible for use by OmniAir Authorized Test Laboratories for certification testing.

All OmniAir Consortium certified devices, qualified test equipment/tools, and authorized test laboratories, including the waveBEE touch, are located on our certified products catalog at www.omniair.org/certified-products/.

The OmniAir Ohio Plugfest, in partnership with DriveOhio, The Ohio State University Center for Automotive Research, and The Beta District is coming up fast!

It is just two weeks until OmniAir Consortium® kicks off the premier testing event for connected vehicle technologies in Columbus, Ohio the week of November 8-12.

This event is designed as a readiness event for connected vehicle and infrastructure radios and modules.

OmniAir Plugfests offer a week of comprehensive lab, field, and security testing for On Board Units (OBU), Roadside Units (RSU), and modules. This OmniAir Plugfest will focus on C-V2X (LTE-V2X PC5) devices preparing for OmniAir Certification.

Building off of our success at the recent OmniAir Michigan Plugfest, we will offer bench simulation and field testing for nine different V2X applications, representing important safety use cases.

Laboratory bench testing will take place over 5 days at The Ohio State University, Center for Automotive Research. Field testing, in a live traffic environment, is made possible through our partnerships with the Beta District and DriveOhio.

Field testing will begin on Wednesday, November 10, and continue through Friday, November 12 along the 33 Smart Mobility Corridor in Marysville and Dublin.

We have an incredible amount of test stations offered by the following OmniAir® members: Anritsu, AUTOCRYPT, INTEGRITY Security Services, Keysight Technologies, Microsec, Qualcomm, Rohde & Schwarz, S.E.A. Datentechnik GmbH, Spirent, Wayties, WSP, NI, and Nordsys.

The following companies are already registered and will take advantage of the opportunity to bring multiple devices for testing: Applied Information, Autotalks, Cohda Wireless, Commsignia, Continental, Danlaw, HARMAN, Kapsch, Siemens, and Qualcomm.

These companies have registered several C-V2X On-Board Units (OBU) and Roadside Units (RSU) that are ready for security, conformance, and interoperability testing.

“OmniAir is excited to bring the world’s premier testing event for connected vehicle devices and applications to the Buckeye State,” said Jason Conley, Executive Director of OmniAir. “Strong participation by leading device manufacturers, test equipment providers, labs, and engineering firms is an indication of the growing market for these life-saving connected vehicle technologies.”

As space is limited we are only able to accommodate a few more C-V2X device makers. Register now to ensure your OBU or RSU is ready for certification and deployment!

Registration ends at the close of business, Thursday, October 28.
