OmniAir Consortium, the leading industry association promoting interoperability and certification for connected vehicles, tolling, and ITS, is proud to announce that the Korea Automotive Technology Institute (KATECH) has joined OmniAir as its newest member.

KATECH is Korea’s only R&D institute specializing in automotive parts, and plays a leading role in technology development. KATECH utilizes their experience to lead the development of the Korean automotive and global automobile industries for its 300 members.

“KATECH’s expertise and experience in automotive technology will be of great assistance to OmniAir Consortium, as we expand OmniAir’s V2X testing and certification programs,” said Jason Conley, Executive Director of OmniAir Consortium. “Having organizations like KATECH as active members of OmniAir will help to advance our mission of promoting conformance and interoperability for connected vehicle technologies across the globe.”

KATECH has an established comprehensive research and development support system which enhances the competitiveness and reliability of eco-friendly vehicle components. It offers a wide variety of technology support services including reliability assessment and certification, official fuel efficiency tests as well as technical information and human resources development.

KATECH has eight research and development divisions including a Smart Vehicle Technology division, whose focus is on maximizing safety, convenience, and connectivity. The Smart Vehicle Technology division also includes a Vehicle-IT Convergence, Intelligent Control System, and Autonomous Vehicle Driving R&D Centers.

OmniAir looks forward to our first face-to-face meeting with KATECH representatives during the Motor City Plugfest May 7-11. We encourage all of our members to reach out and welcome our newest member.
